Some have realized that living in hell hole cities is not all they’re cracked up to be. New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Philadelphia are all registering net loss population counts. The pandemic has accelerated working from home and opened the possibility of living in more hospitable climes and people are acting on it. Only thing is, DON’T BRING YOUR SHIT POLITICS WITH YOU.
You’re leaving for a reason. It might be the high taxes and exorbitant cost of living caused by decades of mismanagement by an entrenched political machine. It might be the higher incidence of crime and homelessness now exacerbated by again, political powers looking to consolidate their hold by pandering to nefarious elements. It might be because there is little prospect of the conditions improving any time soon as those in power are solidly expected to continue to hold sway over your life.
Instead, you’re moving to Tennessee, Florida, Texas and North Carolina for the opposite situations. Lower taxes and cost of living, lower crime, and less government directing your daily life is what you are finding. How you treat these newfound benefits is up to you and how you vote. If you think that you can only bring the “good” parts of your past residence by electing “good” Democrats, you are mistaken. Already, North Carolina is moving away from the things that made it attractive to northerners. Nashville, and Austin Texas are two more examples of where “intruders” are now converting what were once great places to live into the very hell holes those new entrants left. Homelessness and crime are up in both cities as governing bodies are turned over to liberal/progressive politicians. Nice job!
If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome, you are insane. Stay where you are or leave your political garbage there.
Not seeing the rise in crime of any sort in Nashville. Next, a review of Austin.
