Laws for the 118th Congress

12/21/22

Here are some of the laws I would like to see passed by the 118th Congress. Wish me luck!

  1. The “Who Really Pays for This” Act – It states that any promotion by the government include the statement, “This (fill in the blank) was paid for by Taxpayers”
  2. The “You didn’t Build This” Act – No taxpayer funded construction of any type will be named for a politician until he/she has been dead for 25 years.
  3. The “No Work Today” Act – National holidays are reduced to the following:
    • Third Monday in February – Great Americans Day
    • Last Monday in May – Memorial Day
    • July 4th – United States of America’s birthday
    • Third Thursday in November – Thanksgiving

Use your PTO for any other celebrations you care to enjoy.

  1. “Removal of Public Labor Unions” Act –Dissolves all federal public unions.
  2. “Election Weekend in America” Act – Sets the second weekend in October as the days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) on which polling places for federal elections are open. (Requires Constitutional amendment)
  3. “Keep it Simple Bill Writing” Act – All bills must contain the full text of its intentions with no references to other bills. Ex. “This bill amends bill #n by replacing part c.1a with….”
  4. “What do You Need this Money for” Act – All appropriations must detail to the dollar where the money is to be spent. It requires all expenditures to be documented and any and all monies not spent as dictated are returned to the treasury and or deducted from future appropriations. (Back door zero based budgeting and Omnibus spending bill killer.)
  5. “Revolving Door Lock” Act – No former member of Congress may have any access to federal agencies or personnel not afforded any citizen. They are also remanded to a “non-compete” situation with any organization that was impacted by legislation while the member was in Congress. AKA “Get a Real Job” Act

I’ll dispense with the “balanced budget” and term limits stuff but these will keep them busy for a while.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

PS – WordPress reformats and I’m too lazy to figure out how to fix it.
