The Pursuit of Happiness

926/22

Somewhere along the way, in the Obama/Biden years, we lost being happy. I’m struck by how unhappy people on the left are and those on the right are becoming. Our government was supposed to facilitate we citizens being happy but increasingly, they are doing the opposite. Rather than promoting comity, they foment violence. Watching MSNBC, you would think that we are one gunshot away from the second civil war. The only “happy” thing Mika can talk about is women’s empowerment; and even then, she doesn’t smile! Where are the days when you enjoyed no violent crime story? The days where the lead story of the day was the stock market rose 3%, or an eight-year-old caught a 220-pound catfish.

Alas, in order to overturn the world, you must break it. Marxist revolution is clear that no good can come from a happy place. The ignorant masses that now populate our Democrat voting bloc, have no clue about the vagaries of socialism and communism. Totalitarian regimes like Iran, China, Russia, Venezuela and North Korea are not enough for them to resist the temptation of neo slavery brought on by a false promise of providing anything and everything you want. They scream, “I studied LGBTQ+ issues and darn it, you owe me a living wage!” They think that will make them happy but if not, they’ll come up with something else they must have and then, they’ll be happy…. until they’re not.

Therein lies the failings of the left. No appeasement is enough. When the 1964 Civil Rights law was enacted, we thought we were righting a wrong. Instead, we opened up the spigot for a never-ending list of wrongs to be addressed. Everyone was now aggrieved and yes, unhappy! The line of the “oppressed” and “disadvantaged” is getting longer by the day. With compliant megaphones aka, major and social media, the more unhappy you are, the more likely you will find a way to getting greased.

Such is the pursuit of happiness in the USA today. You have to be unhappy to get happy.

How Non-Citizens can Vote in our Elections

9-20-22

Only citizens of the United States are eligible to vote in federal elections. Some are excluded for criminal records or mental incapacity (https://www.usa.gov/who-can-vote).  So being a citizen is pretty important and should have safeguards to assure only citizens are voting, especially in light of the flood of illegal aliens that have entered our country over the past decades. So how do you prove you’re a citizen and more importantly, are people being made to prove it before voting?

There are four means to prove you are a citizen; a US passport, a birth certificate, a certificate of citizenship and a naturalized citizen certificate ( https://www.usimmigration.org/articles/how-to-prove-your-us-citizenship). The US passport requires proof of citizenship in the form of the 4 items above, a prior passport, or alternative birthing documents (https://passportinfo.com/us-passport-help-guide/proof-of-citizenship/). How is proof of citizenship used in voter registration?

Each state has its own protocols for registering voters. (Efforts to federalize elections were thwarted earlier but have not gone away.) In Massachusetts for example, you need a valid driver’s license, learner’s permit or State ID and a signature on file with the Registry of Motor Vehicles. No proof of citizenship is required at time of registration. Rather, the voter registration process depends on the driver’s license/permitting process. To get a driver’s license/permit in Massachusetts, you need “…proof of citizenship or lawful presence or a Social Security Card…” (https://www.mass.gov/guides/massachusetts-identification-id-requirements). Non-citizens can get a Social Security card (https://faq.ssa.gov/en-us/Topic/article/KA-02178) and there ae a number of means to “prove” lawful presence. The result is a driver’s license in Massachusetts does not mean you are a citizen.

Massachusetts is not an outlier as many states use divers’ licenses as the single form of identification for registering voters and ultimately, voting. (NOTE: MA does not require identification to vote. It “may” ask for it. (https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleidreq/idrequirementsidx.htm) Many Democrat run states issue licenses along the lines of Massachusetts where no proof of citizenship is required and hence, proof of citizenship at the time of voting is nil, if they even ask for identification.

Even with the uproar over having to show photographic identification at the time of voting, insisting on such identification is not sufficient to thwart an effort to have non-citizens voting in our elections. The use of on-line registration is being further expanded by this Administration. (See Demos.org) Persons can be registered with no proof of even existence when you consider how many ways a person can create themselves out of affidavits/bogus birth certificates and other unconfirmable means.

Our elections are the last hope of keeping our country and every effort is required to make sure they are not corrupted. Confirming eligibility to vote is paramount and not just at the time of voting but at the time of registration. The battle has moved up the line and those of us who love this country must take the fight there.

What does Trump Represent that So Worries the Left

9/18/22

New York Times columnist, David Brooks writes this week that the left needs a strategy to defeat Trump. He finds it “astounding” that Trump is still polling strongly despite “…the American establishment over the past seven years [having] spent enormous amounts of energy trying to discredit him”. He of course says the establishment, of which he proudly includes himself, “correctly identified Trump as a grave threat to Democracy”. The new slander having come into vogue with the left especially after January 6th when that talking point was distributed.

Yes, there have been multiple attempts to quash this man. They spied on his campaign. They made up lies about his attachment to Russia and spent years keeping that lie in the media only to be found empty. They tried impeaching him for a phone call that will likely prove to be prescient on the involvement of the Biden family in a corrupt Ukraine. They tried impeachment again over his holding a political rally where he exercised his constitutional right to speak.

While Biden and the left vilify everyone with whom they disagree, Trump has never disenfranchised other citizens. What Trump does espouse is the scum he found lurking behind the curtain.

Its clear that there are a lot of people who have a lot to lose should information come out on what has been going on in Washington for decades. The sweetheart public employee union deals, the way legislators cash in on their positions of power, the backroom lobbying that results in a tax code of nearly 74,000 pages, the legislation on campaign financing and election laws that inhibit new entrants, why climate change advocates are running the asylum, etc. The list is long and ripe for light to shine into the depths of the swamp. Trump the disruptor must be stopped or the house of cards crumbles.

If for no other reason, every American should want Trump or some other bull in a china shop to shake up the “establishment”. The cabal that is so strongly united (media, big tech, big business and the full weight of the Federal government) is scared of one man? No, they’re worried about what he represents. The thirst of millions for the country where you can safely walk the streets, say what you think without retribution and feel that the government works for you and not against you. Some call that democracy.

In What Universe Do You Find…

9/15/22

If you’re born with a penis, you may not be a male and if your born with a vagina you may not be a female.

A child needs a parent’s permission to take an aspirin at school but can get an abortion without their knowledge.

It’s ok to kill a baby up to the time of birth.

Asking for photo identification is perfectly acceptable to get through airport security, cash a check, purchase adult products but not to vote.

The title of legislation is the opposite of what the law does.

It’s ok to show 6-year-old children photos of male and female genitalia in a class room but be cause for arrest and conviction if done on a playground.

Millions of people crossing into a country without permission is above the law.

Government agencies directed at harassing those who question the current administration’s policies.

People who repeat questions about the integrity of voting machines getting pulled over while in a drive through fast food restaurant by armed FBI agents who demand their personal phone.

Journalists embedded through marriage and business connections with the very entities they are supposed to be keeping arms lengths from.

Where libraries are sponsoring drag queen story time for young children replete with neon signs blaring “It ain’t goin’ to suck itself”.

Fighting inflation means spending more money we don’t have instead of increasing supply.

Where uniting people with differing views is accomplished by vilifying those with whom you disagree.

Administration officials presenting false information and out and out lies, with impunity, in the face of incontrovertible evidence.

What universe is this?

Don’t Get Mad, Get Even

9/3/22

The “soul of our country” is in peril. On this I agree with our esteemed President. I think decades of indoctrination of children has wrought a large swath of the population that has no historic knowledge of totalitarianism. Worse, they have no centering and stable source in their lives with secularism replacing formal religion. (Spare me the, “I’m spiritual, just not into religion.”) We are in a period where Marxist philosophy is being foisted on us by a cabal that was likely put in place through nefarious means. Indeed, their first attempt at legislation was to alter election laws to assure permanent one-party rule. Even some Democrats balked at the unabashed power grab. What to do to re-capture the essence of our wonderful governance experiment? Make sure we win elections which means, make sure they’re not stolen.

Having seen the shenanigans that occurred in 2020, I am convinced that citizens from any political persuasion, should be more active in the actual election process. To that end, I have applied to be a poll worker. The job of the poll worker is to assure the physical space is setup correctly according to some clear rules, the machines are in working order and voter identification is applied properly among other duties. I hope to be selected and if not, inquire as to why I was rejected. Assuming I do get selected and having indicated I would work anywhere in the state, I hope to be placed in an area that has seen some number of “issues” in hopes that I can assure all valid voters that our election was conducted properly.

I’m urging everyone who has any doubt about previous elections, to do the same. (Go to your Secretary of State website and search for “poll worker” or “poll watcher”. Some states do not have either but most do.) Stop your bitching and do something about it. We’ll all be better off for it.

I Voted Yesterday

8-10-22

I was in a quandary as to whom I would choose to run against our entrenched Democrat Senator Blumenthal. He of Viet Nam lying. The three choices were a former Republican leader of the House, a businessman new to politics and a woman Trump endorsed. I was very familiar with Themis Klarides, who had been in CT politics for years. Peter Lumaj was new and I knew little of him. The third was Leora Levy who’s only claim to fame for me was Trump endorsed her. All three campaigns never reached out to me until I started getting text message on Monday. (Curious as to how they got my mobile phone number.)

I wrestled with choosing between what I thought would be the clear winner. Klarides has a long history in the state and the name recognition that comes with it. Lumaj is a business man who may have some real-world experience I relish in my governments. Levy previously dissed Trump but now has his imprimatur. I had no idea who to choose. Then they raided Mar-O-Lago.

If ever a martyr was made, it was Trump on August 8, 2022. That the full weight of the federal government has been brought down upon a former and soon-to-be at least, candidate for the Presidency, told me that we are in a fight for our very way of life. I chose to make a stand and voted for Leora Levy. I fully expected my vote would be a throw away as it is in the general election in this very blue state. I mean the Connecticut Republican Party endorsed Klarides and the populace knows her well. Instead, I see now where many who may have had lingering doubts about what a one-party state or country can do, have spoken and said enough is enough.

After seeing the feckless Connecticut Republicans continue to go to gun fights with pea shooters, I’d rather go down swinging. Klarides might have been the “better” candidate but even if she won, it would be another “moderate Republican” who is really a left of center Democrat in conservative homes. If nothing else happens in the general, I will encourage Ms. Levy to call out the hypocrisies of these Marxist policies (For the People Act, Inflation Reduction Act etc.), weaponization of our legal system and the untoward direction of our country. With the megaphone of a statewide campaign and the national attention it will harbor, it is critical that we get the word out that these policies and the disparate applications of the law are undermining the very foundation of our country. It is not hyperbole to say this can lead to an all-out violent confrontation as the state, fully armed, can foist its might on an unwilling citizenry.

So, I voted on principle and not who has the best chance to win. I’m hoping those two criteria come together this November.

Don’t Believe Your Lying Eyes

8/9/22

None of it is true. It’s disinformation. It’s a right-wing conspiracy borne of fake news.

Eric Holder was not in contempt of Congress. I mean, he wasn’t arrested like Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro.

Hillary Clinton didn’t keep a private server with top secret classified information on it. She and her staff didn’t just delete 30,000 emails or physically smash phones and hard drives AFTER they were subpoenaed.

The FBI didn’t lie to the secret court to get permission to spy on the Trump campaign.

The Clinton campaign didn’t feed the FBI known false information that resulted in a 2 year “investigation” that cost millions and ended with nothing found.

Burning down a police precinct in Portland, assaulting and injuring people, commandeering whole sections of the city for months and damaging a federal courthouse is nothing more than peaceful protests.

The scoundrels that entered the Capitol are insurrectionists who were hell bent on toppling the government. They deserve to rot in hell for their actions.

The Capitol police officer was justified killing an unarmed veteran woman. No investigation was necessary.

The FBI is doing its due diligence with the alleged Hunter Biden laptop. It takes years to get through all the data and photos on it and they are being thorough. He just forgot about his drug use when he applied for his gun license.

The 2016 election was stolen but the 2020 election was returned to the solid, free and fair elections we have always had.

The FBI didn’t serve a warrant and search the home of a former President.

The Sound of the Rushing Water

8/4/22

The Democrats and their Marxist wing are marching us toward the waterfall of socialism at an ever-increasing rate. Knowing they have a small window to move the ball, they are quadrupling down on their effort to turn our country from a capitalist democracy into a socialistic one-party state. They won’t get there with this regime, but the giant leaps they have heaped on us indicates they have our way of life on the run and with plenty of support. They have craftily indoctrinated whole generations of the ills of the US and the greatness of socialism. They captured our youth and are reaping the benefit of the millions who actually believe there is free money. Real freedom to so many means being given “free” (fill in the blank) so you don’t have to deal with a mundane thing like work to get food, housing, health care or transportation.

Regardless of how you look at taxing policy, the end result is resources are taken out of the productive part of the economy and put into the non-productive part. Private enterprise is by far the more efficient user of those resources and many believe, government is the waster of them. Of course, no Marxist would ever accept the fact that a committed state couldn’t’ make the world a better place “if you would only give it all to us”. Ignoring history, or in the case of totalitarian governments rewriting it, makes all the bluster seem reasonable to a populace that has been fed a very biased story. Will those of us who have a better sense of the ills of a large state apparatus prevail? It is not a done deal.

More Smoke in the Department of Justice

7/29/22

I read today that the FBI is looking to reach a settlement over the botched investigation of Dr. Nasser and US Olympic team women gymnasts. The suit for a cool $1,000,0000,000 of taxpayer money, alleges the FBI did not conduct a proper investigation of Dr. Nasser despite being notified of his tawdry activities. The errors committed by the FBI lead to more women being abused. Oh well. Write a check and move on. But wait, maybe we shouldn’t go so fast this time.

This case, coupled with a growing understanding of the role of the Department of Justice and more specifically, the FBI, in “Russiagate”, and the burying of the Hunter Biden laptop, is bringing to light a very disturbing pattern of malfeasance. There are some very bad actors at the FBI and the rot started at the top with Director James Comey and continues today with Christopher Wray’s ignoring the need to clean house.

The question for us now is this institutional? Is it just some ardent leftists seeking to impose their political will or is the entire organization now spun to a single political view? Indeed, the recent comments of the Attorney General, Merrick Garland should cause concern. In an interview he stated that the Department would “…pursue justice without fear or favor. We hold anyone responsible…” when discussing January 6th.  But it’s clear that they are not pursuing apparent federal crimes by Antifa, Black Lives Matter, Hunter Biden, and protesters of Supreme Court Justices.

If the FBI isn’t investigating and burying findings not consistent with their political persuasion when it does investigate, and the Department of Justice is selectively pursuing indictments for non-violent alleged crimes like contempt of Congress and trespassing, there is more than smoke coming from the Department. It’s on fire.

Here’s A Plan

7/27/22

I am an ardent supporter of Trump. Well, actually, an ardent supporter of Trump’s policies, not Trump himself. Living in a bluer than blue state, defending him is akin to calling Jefferey Epstein a model for how to raise young girls. They hear nothing good and refute any “what about his policy” with “Did you see what he just tweeted?” He appears to not have the self-control to know when he is winning and how to navigate the turbulent waters of a political system built around a cadre of elitists.

It is clear that President Trump has every intention of running again. His ego will not let go of the perceived (real?) slight of having been tossed out of office illegally. He must be vindicated on this singular item rather than let history prove the worth of his policies. I believe there is a good chance that he will not only lose, but cast the country into another more tumultuous period of unrest. Regardless of the outcome, the losing side will claim it was rigged and off we go into the demise of our country. Here is how we can avoid this potential American Armageddon.

President Trump should have individual meetings with the following people to determine who should lead our country and what they would do.

Governor DeSantis – He has proven leadership qualities and success in Florida. He has true conservative bona fides and is nationally known.  His demeanor though, is just short of Trump’s which the left will pick apart.

Nikki Haley – She checks off many of the boxes the left would have a hard time “splainin” away should she run. A successful Governorship in NC and international experience with her role at the UN. She also showed her independent streak by adroitly walking the Trump support line.

Mike Pompeo – He too checks off some boxes (West Point, active military duty) and has both Congressional and administration cred. His knowledge of the CIA is critical to our nation’s security and will be a needed attribute after the disastrous Biden years.

Kristi Knome – Successful Governor and bona fide conservative. Needs more exposure.

Tulsi Gabbard – WOW you say! Reaching out to a Democrat whose international outlook aligns with conservatives indicates his willingness to hear from others.

Joe Manchin – Highly successful Senator and past Governor of West Virginia. Has shown the strength to withstand the onslaught of the left with moderate policies that are center left. Again, asking what should our next leader look like?

The winning ticket is a Trump backed combination that would assure 16 years of conservative executive branch leadership. For my money that would be Nikki Haley/Ron DeSantis 2024/2028 ticket followed by Ron DeSantis/TBD 2032/2036 package. The stream would first move away from the elitists attacks on personality and force policy debate. Once elected and the proof of the polices coming to fruition, Ron’s sometimes combative personality will have diminished with less confrontation from the left. Policy will always trump (no pun) poor personality once Trump is not the personality.

Play King Maker Mr. Trump and save us and your legacy.
